About Cooper

Xander Cooper is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who received his bachelors of arts at Long Beach State, and obtained his Masters degree in counseling psychology at national University.

His passion is working with children and adolescents, and is a registered behavioral technician who previously worked with children with autism spectrum disorder. He has also been trained in Play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and childhood and adolescent trauma. In addition to private practice, Xander is also currently working in a residential detoxification facility focused on rehabilitating clients with substance use issues.

Xander is skilled in treating clients with various mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, and oppositional defiance. He is primarily concerned with working with patients in the “here and now”, and takes a person centered approach to treatment, believing that all clients can benefit from a non judgemental space in which they feel comfortable to share what they are experiencing.

Xander played Division I sports in college, and is a high school track and field coach in his spare time. He also enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with his dog.
