About Alicia Burke

Dr. Alicia Burke moved to San Diego from Madison, Wisconsin in 2019. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she obtained Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) in 2009 and a Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2017. She is certified as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Prior to moving to San Diego, Dr. Burke practiced in a community mental health center in Madison, working with patients with chronic and persistent mental health disorders. She also has extensive nursing experience working in multiple trauma centers.

Dr. Burke is skilled in treating patients with various concerns such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and more. She has a special interest in treating women, especially during the prenatal and postpartum periods. Dr. Burke believes that medications are just one set of tools that can be used to address mental health concerns.

In her spare time, Dr. Burke enjoys exploring San Diego and enjoying the California sunshine. She is open to suggestions of your favorite San Diego area excursions.
