Dr. Manuel "Manny" Garcia earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH.  He did a flexible internship at the Cleveland Clinic, then went on to complete his residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California in San Diego. 

Dr. Garcia has had a varied professional career.  He was on Clinical Faculty in Child Psychiatry at University of Pittsburgh and at UCSD.   He went on to work in Medical Affairs for various Pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, Sunovion, Mylan, and Sage Therapeutics where he focused on providing scientific communication and education to physicians.  Additionally, Dr. Garcia has been involved with the San Diego Psychiatric Society for the last 9 years which has included roles as Treasurer, President Elect and in 2022-2023 is serving his term as President.

Throughout his career, Dr. Garcia maintained a clinical psychiatric practice seeing child, adolescent and adult patients.  Dr. Garcia is looking forward to fully engage in providing needed mental health care for both english and spanish speaking patients in San Diego.
